This photo
shows Lake Effect Snow falling over a creek. The Air Temperature was in
the low teens and the wind was really blowing off Lake Michigan keeping
the wind chill at or below zero. When venturing out in these conditions
it's important to cover all exposed skin because frostbite can set in
quickly. Carry extra chemical heaters and keep them in your gloves and
boots. Also wear several layers of clothing. Notice the Belted
Kingfisher on the branch in the center of the photo. 1/18/2004 |
